Privacy Policy
1. Who this applies to
YTTD is not offered to the public. It is operated by Interparadigm LLC ("we") for its owner's personal use, using a dedicated Google account (the "service account") that the owner controls. The only person who signs in to the app is the owner.
2. Google user data the app accesses
The app requests these Google permissions for the service account, and uses each only for the purpose described:
- Gmail (read, label): to find and read email messages sent to the service account by the owner's own address, so it can extract the YouTube links they contain, and to apply labels that mark a message as queued or finished. Messages from any other sender are not searched for or read.
- Gmail (send): to send reply emails to the owner containing the transcript files and status notes.
- Google Drive (files created by the app): to create a folder named "YTTD Transcripts", save the transcript files the app itself creates, and share that folder with the owner. The app cannot see or open any other files in Drive.
3. How the data is used
Data accessed through Google APIs is used only to provide the transcript service described above: reading the owner's requests, producing transcript files, and returning them. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or any other purpose.
4. Sharing and transfers
- We do not sell Google user data, and we do not share it with third parties.
- We do not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or machine learning models.
- No human reads the data other than the owner, except where required by law.
- To fetch transcripts, the owner's computer contacts YouTube for the public transcript and public details (title, channel, date) of the videos named in the request. No Google account credentials are sent to YouTube.
5. Where data is processed and stored
The app runs as a script on a personal computer in the owner's home. We operate no servers. Sign-in tokens are kept in a file on that computer. Transcript files are saved to a folder on that computer and to the service account's Google Drive. Activity and error logs are kept on that computer.
6. Retention and deletion
Emails, labels, and Drive files remain in the service account until the owner deletes them. Local files and logs remain on the owner's computer until the owner deletes them. The owner can delete any of this at any time, or revoke the app's access to the service account at myaccount.google.com/permissions, after which the app can no longer access any Google data.
7. Security
The app acts only on emails from the owner's own address, rejects messages that fail Gmail's sender authentication checks, and keeps its credentials and sign-in tokens in private files that are not uploaded or shared.
8. Google API Services User Data Policy
Interparadigm LLC's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
